The short version

EARTHLIKE VST asks you to sign in once with your email address (a one-click link, no password). It checks your licence with our server, and it sends usage statistics that help us improve it. You can switch the statistics off in the plug-in at any time. Your audio, your recordings and your projects never leave your computer.

Signing in and your licence

When you sign in, we send a one-time sign-in link to the email address you enter. The link is delivered by Stytch, our sign-in provider. We store:

• Your email address, and whether it holds an EARTHLIKE licence.
• A machine identifier generated from your computer, so one account can be used on up to five machines.
• A record of each sign-in and licence check: plug-in version, operating system, the name of your music software (for example "FL Studio"), and the date and time.

While EARTHLIKE is open it checks your licence with our server every few hours. A signed-in machine keeps working offline for 14 days.

Usage statistics

When "Share usage data" is on, EARTHLIKE also sends:

• Session events: the plug-in was opened, and a short "still open" signal once a minute.
• Feature use: for example presets loaded or saved (by name), the dice, settings pages opened, and counts of knob moves and seconds of sound played.
• Context: plug-in version, operating system, the name of your music software, and your account email once you are signed in.

Folder paths are removed from any name before it is sent. EARTHLIKE never sends audio, recordings, MIDI you play, or the contents of your files.

Network address and approximate location

Like any server, ours receives your computer's IP address with each request. We store it with sign-in records and usage events, and we use it to look up an approximate location (country, region and city) through the ip-api.com service. We do not collect precise location.

Turning statistics off

Open the settings window (the three dots in the top bar), and on the GENERAL page untick "Share usage data". Statistics stop immediately and EARTHLIKE works the same either way. Sign-in and licence checks continue, because they are how your licence works.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Shopify on audiotechhub.com; we never see your card details. When an order is paid, our server receives the order's email address and product, and grants the licence to that email. A refund or chargeback on the order removes the licence.

What we don't do

• No advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
• No selling of your data. We share it only with the service providers named here (Stytch for sign-in emails, ip-api.com for approximate location, Shopify for payments, and Railway, which hosts our server and database), and only to run EARTHLIKE.
• No access to your microphone, camera or files.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep account, licence and usage records while we operate EARTHLIKE, to support your licence and improve the product. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email support@audiotechhub.com from your account address.

Children

EARTHLIKE VST is not directed at children under 13.
